It is hard to think that you will soon be saying goodbye to 2021 and hello to 2022! It doesn’t seem possible that the year is already over, but here we are! As the year comes to an end, you might be thinking about what 2022 will bring you and the changes you will make for yourself. First, you need to decide on the goals you want to accomplish throughout the year before you jump into your goal planning. Can’t think of anything? We have created a list of some great New Year’s Resolutions to help you get started.
Eat Healthier
If you want to be the best driver you can be, stay on top of your health. Without good health, it is more difficult to achieve your goals, which can interfere with your work and personal life. Before you start dieting, start focusing on the foods you eat rather than how much you eat. Eat more fruits and vegetables, eat less junk food, drink less soda and coffee, and drink more water. If you decide to go on a diet, slowly work your way to it. You don’t want to overwhelm your body when you jump right into one. Lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself, especially if you occasionally overindulge at first.
Move More
As a truck driver, you know you’ll be sitting down for extended periods of time while you travel. However, you can still move and exercise even when you are on the road. Although you may not always be able to squeeze in an hour of exercise at the gym as often as you would like, you can still take advantage of bodyweight exercises using resistance bands and incorporate plyometrics into your workout routine. You can also take a walk, run, hike, or do yoga to stretch your body.
Learn a Hobby
Hobbies help in boosting self-confidence along with assisting in building friendships. There are groups for tons of interests on the internet like goats, guns, boats, and card games just to name a few. Hobbies like working out, dancing, and bicycling where you are in motion can create a chemical change in your body that is proven to help reduce stress. Everyone has a passion. It is just a matter of expressing it or finding out what it is! If you like photography, take a class! If you want to learn to make pottery find a teacher! Nobody is stopping you from doing what you enjoy!
Stay Connected to Loved Ones
You might be wondering how you will juggle your social life with staying physically and mentally healthy, achieving all your goals, and doing your best in your career. It might seem impossible to even keep one ball from falling to the ground right now, but if you devote a small amount of time to your goals, then you can achieve them. The same goes for staying in touch with your friends and loved ones. Keeping in touch with the people you care about can positively impact your mental health. Instead of only devoting your time to working all day, you can schedule some time to make a phone call, video call, or send a text message here and there. You can also sit down and write a letter or put together a care package during your break. Although it may seem like a lot of work, it only takes a little bit of effort, which can benefit you significantly.
Be Green and Save Money
Going green can be beneficial if you want to help the environment and save money simultaneously. There are many ways to decrease your carbon footprint, and a lot of these ways can help you save and make money, whether it is from home or when you are driving. You can begin reducing your carbon footprint by reducing your fuel consumption. Driving more efficiently means less fuel used and MVT MPG Bonuses in your pocket. When you are home, you can swap out your old light bulbs with energy-saving ones, reuse your food waste by eating leftovers, unplug inessential appliances, and coupon when you can. Implementing these tiny changes can help you save on your energy bill, food cost, and make extra money by being fuel-efficient while driving!
